What is a BOTOX® treatment like?

BOTOX® is not a “one-size-fits-all” injection. Each patient has a customized treatment plan which includes injecting as much or as little as needed to achieve the desired outcome. Our highly-trained BOTOX® medical professionals are skilled in the art of injecting BOTOX® to maximize wrinkle reduction yet allow natural-looking facial expressions. BOTOX® is a relatively quick and easy treatment. Tiny needles (similar to those used for Insulin injections) are used to make a few strategically mapped injections. Some patients have described the sensation during treatment as a mosquito bite.

What should I expect after the treatment?

• Mild redness, tenderness, and swelling can occur at the injection site, but usually resolves in a few hours.
• First-time BOTOX® patients will see beautiful results within 14 days, while repeat BOTOX® patients often see effects sooner. Lines and furrows will soften for a younger, fresher look.
• With repeat treatments, BOTOX® should lessen deeper lines and furrows that were created over many years.

Is BOTOX® FDA approved?

Yes. A major study investigating the safety and efficacy of BOTOX® for forehead wrinkles was completed back in 1995 with a review published in the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology. In 2002, BOTOX® was FDA approved for the temporary improvement of glabellar lines (wrinkles between the eyebrows commonly referred to as frown lines) and TODAY BOTOX® is the only neuromodulator FDA approved for simultaneous treatment to improve the look of moderate to severe frown lines, crow’s feet lines, and forehead lines in adults.
